Kennedy Krieger Institute
The Kennedy Krieger Institute is an internationally recognized organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with disabilities. Through its more than 40 outpatient clinical programs, inpatient hospital, schools and community outreach programs, Kennedy Krieger reaches more than 11,000 children and families each year.Kennedy Krieger’s single most defining characteristic is the interdisciplinary nature of its programs. Physicians, nurses, nutritionists, psychologists, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, educators, physical and occupational therapists, child life/therapeutic recreation specialists, and social workers comprise faculty and staff working together to tailor treatment to the individual needs of each child. The Institute is also home to the world’s foremost researchers on conditions as wide-ranging as cerebral palsy, autism, traumatic brain injury, Down syndrome and feeding disorders. These researchers work daily to make breakthroughs that have a dramatic, positive impact on the quality of diagnosis and treatment of these disorders.
