Occupational Therapy Team
Rebecca Martin, OTR/L, CBISRebecca Martin is an occupational therapist in the International Center for Spinal Cord Injury. A member of the team since the Center first opened, Rebecca is highly motivated by the complexities and plasticity of the central nervous system - with a special focus on recovery of the small muscles of the hand and splinting. She holds a modalities certification as outlined by the Maryland Board of Occupational Therapy and is also a Certified Brain Injury Specialist.
A graduate of Boston University, Rebecca was an occupational therapist for the May Institute in Brockton, Massachusetts before joining our team. Focusing on pediatric neurorehabilitation, it was there that she honed her evaluation and treatment skills while developing an appreciation for a true interdisciplinary approach. Rebecca also spent time with Easter Seals, where she acquired a wide range of experience, including acute and long-term care, medical and educational facilities, and pediatric and adult populations.
Fluent in sign language and conversational in Spanish, Rebecca enjoys playing golf and cooking in her free time.
Ashleigh Rankin, MS, OTR/L
Ashleigh Rankin is a new occupational therapist, joining the Kennedy Krieger team in January of 2006. Originating from Allentown, PA, Ashleigh graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Delaware in 2002. Shortly after graduation, Ashleigh discovered the profession of Occupational Therapy, and returned to Pennsylvania in 2003 to obtain a Master’s degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
With a strong interest in the pediatric population and neurology, Ashleigh is excited to be a part of the unique therapy program offered by the International Center for Spinal Cord Injury.
Ashleigh leads a very active lifestyle, enjoying swimming, running, biking, weight lifting and spending time with her dog, Tucker.
